I spent time with my parents and with friends. Over all had a great time. My friend Darlene Nelson’s husband Jim makes furniture there in a home shop in Moab. I hope to have him create a cutting table for my sewing studio sometime this year. He does wonderful work and has been making picture frames from wood from tamarisk trees. It is such an ugly tree, but the wood is beautiful. I really have never seen any wood like it before. The center of the pieces are red and the grain looks like fans, spread out and flipped. The new growth is white. It is just very unique wood. He has made some custom furniture out of the tamarisk also. I went into Crystal Day’s quilt shop in Moab. It is a very nice shop and she carries a good supply of material.
I don’t know if all you here in St. George have heard that Bernina has taken the dealer ship away from Ken and Terri Harker or not. I am a current owner of 2 Berninas, a 180 and a 200. I was thinking about the new Bernina, but now...... I wouldn’t consider a Bernina. My opinion is if they would treat wonderful dealers like this a customer can’t expect much. Apparently Bernina is bringing down a son of the Provo dealer. I for one won’t darken his door. I will take my machines to the shop where I purchased them in SLC for repair when needed. Ken has treat me wonderfully even though I have not made a machine purchase from him.
Well the day is going.... I need to get a photo taken of the quilt I finished quilting last night for Bobbi Spence. It turned out cute. I think she will be happy. I need to get a couple of my own quilted now. Hope everyone has a good day.
